Interesting argument for greater regional thinking in transportation. One advantage of the Purple Line's P3 structure is that the operation and maintenance budget is baked in for 30 years after construction, avoiding some of woes that plague Metro with its inconsistent funding stream.

However, the Purple Line is part of a larger system, so we do need to think about ways the whole DC metropolitan area can be shine just as we think of how the Purple Line integrates into the larger Maryland transportation network, notably through Marc rail.
