General Recommendations of the Approved Georgetown Branch Master Plan Amendment
  1. The designation of the Georgetown Branch right-of-way as suitable for use as the Silver Spring & Bethesda Trolley and the Capital Crescent Trail between Silver Spring and Bethesda.

  2. That five trolley stations between Bethesda and Silver Spring be designated. [Bethesda Terminal, Chevy Chase Lake/Connecticut Avenue, Lyttonsville, Spring Street, and Silver Spring Terminal]

  3. That the trolley and trail be constructed at the same time to reduce community impact and to provide for the vitality of the trail as soon as possible.

Specific Recommendations of the Approved Georgetown Branch Master Plan Amendment
  1. That the southern entrance to the Bethesda Metrorail Station be connected to the trolley facility to provide a convenient, direct transfer from the Bethesda Terminal Station to the Metrorail system.

  2. That an above-grade trolley/trail crossing be designated at Connecticut Avenue.

  3. That the trolley crossing of the Metropolitan Branch (CSX right of way) be a below-grade tunnel or underpass.

  4. That any additional right-of-way needed for future possible double track configuration along the Metropolitan Branch be identified for future dedication through the subdivision process.
