  • The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) has many expansion ideas to complement the existing heavy rail system.



  • The District of Columbia is evaluating the development of a network of light rail and street cars. Eventually the system is proposed to connect with the Purple Line via Georgia Avenue. Click here for a map and information on this project.

    Specific alignment issues are a concern all along the proposed route of the Inner Purple Line. PLN believes that concerns can be addressed in a manner that will protect neighborhoods while ensuring success of the project success. We are actively working with our community partners and MTA to address alignment concerns.
